A MAN OF INTEGRITY

by Stan C. Countz

When a man is self-serving
It can be unnerving
When he’s babied and coddled
His life can be hollow

CHORUS
When a man has integrity
He leaves a legacy
And serves as a model
For his family to follow

When a man has a plan
For his family
He doesn’t dawdle
It may be hard to swallow
But he doesn’t wallow
In self-pity

If he’s a man of integrity
He leaves a legacy
And serves as a model
For his family to follow

A man’s gotta do what he’s gotta do
It may not be the most popular thing
But at least it will be
Based on honesty and truth

It may be hard to swallow, but he doesn’t wallow in self-pity
Especially if he’s a man of integrity
He doesn’t try to be witty; he’s a model of integrity
He leaves a legacy for his family to follow

He does what he has to do
Seeks nothing but the truth
So if the shoe fits, it’s not a sin to wear it
Or you can just …………….grin and bear it

Don’t go for the glitz or try to put on the Ritz
Or throw hissy fits ‘cuz you can never merit
His gift; just accept it for what it is--
His free gift; just receive it and share it

You can never merit something that is free
Just take a stand and be a man
A man of integrity and leave a legacy
And be a model for your family to follow

It may be hard to swallow and to understand
But society needs you to be a man
A man of integrity… so join the band
He has a plan for you and me to be men of integrity

So take His hand and you will see what He can do
With men like me and you; have you seen or heard
What He’ll do with you when you spread His word
Throughout the land? When you do you’ll see His hand

I wanna be
a man of integrity
I wanna leave
A legacy (2x)
